This ritual 'Vada Seva' is practiced in Kavooru Kamakshi and Shanteri Kamakshi temple in Kumta Town in Karnataka for the past 500 years. The priests take out Vada from the boiling pan dipping their hands and offer the Vada Prasad to Goddess Kamakshi Devi. It is held as part of the 15 day Dasara Celebrations. It begins on the new moon day and ends on the full moon day.
