A rich had amassed 1000 crores worth of assets with his hard work but he didn't want anyone else to enjoy his wealth after his death. He wanted to take them along with him.
He had given a paper ad, 'whoever gives an idea that enables him to take the wealth along with him after death, would be awarded 10 crores.'
None came about. He increased the award to 20 crores. Then also none came forward.
Lastly one sadhu came to him and told him, 'i saw your ad. I can give you an idea.'
The rich man was very happy and asked him what were the ways.
The sadhu asked him, ' did you visit any foreign country'
Rich : yes
Sadhu : how did you spend your money during your foreign visits.
Rich: indian rupees wouldn't be helpful. I have converted into the currencies of the respective countries concerned and spent.
Sadhu: now you came to my point. Indian rupees wouldn't be helpful to you in your foreign visits. Isn't it.
Rich: yes
Sadhu: you may have to exchange . Similarly after death, you may either go to heaven or hell. There also this currency is not helpful. The currency in heaven is 'punya' and the currency in hell is 'papa'. If you want to go to heaven, carry out philanthropic activities with your wealth and convert them to punya and go to heaven straightaway. On the other hand , you can do all illegal and unlawful activities, acquire papa and reach hell. The choice is yours.
The rich man was very happy . He created a trust under the aegis of the sadhu himself , carried out all philanthropic activities.
