भवजलधिगतानां द्वन्द्ववाताहतानां
सुतदुहितृकलत्रत्राणभारार्दितानाम् ।
विषमविषयतोये मज्जतामप्लवानां
भवतु शरणमेको विष्णुपोतो नराणाम् ॥ १२॥
భవజలధిగతానాం ద్వంద్వ వాతాహతానాం
సుతదుహితృ కళత్ర త్రాణభారార్ధితానాం I
విషమవిషయతోయే మజ్జతామప్లవానాం
భవతు శరణమేకో విష్ణుపోతోనరాణాం ॥
సంసారమనే సముద్రంలో చిక్కి,
విరుద్ధ ధర్మములనే గాలిచే కొట్టబడి,
భార్యాబిడ్డలు మున్నగువారిని పోషించడమనే బరువును మోస్తూ,
విషయసుఖాలనే నీళ్ళలో మునిగి లేస్తూ,
నావ లేకుండా నానా యాతనలకు గురి అవుతున్న నరులకు
శ్రీమన్నారాయణుడు (శ్రీమహా విష్ణువు) అనే నావ ఒక్కటే శరణ్యము.
The people in this vast ocean of birth and death are being blown about by the winds of material dualities.
As they flounder in the perilous waters of sense indulgence,
with no boat to help them,
they are sorely distressed by the need to protect their sons, daughters, and wives.
Only the boat that is Lord Viṣhṇu can save them.
